This policy explains what information Bookstagram Apothecary collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site at bookstagramapothecary.com is operated by KLD LLC, an Arizona limited liability company, doing business as Bookstagram Apothecary ("we," "us"). What we collect and why
We collect only what we need to send you the emails you asked for, deliver what you buy, answer your messages and keep the site running.
When you sign up. Our newsletter, starter-kit and notify-me forms ask for your email address, and sometimes your first name. They go to our own self-hosted email system (Mautic) so we can send you what you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect right away.
When you write to us. The contact form asks for your name, email address, the reason you're writing and your message, so we can reply.
When you buy something. Payment happens on Stripe's secure payment page. Your card details go straight to Stripe, our payment processor; they never reach us and we never store them. From Stripe we receive your name, email address, what you bought and whether the payment went through. We use that to deliver your downloads, send your receipt and keep our accounting records. Download files are stored privately with Supabase, and the emails with your links are sent through Resend.
When you visit the site. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.
In your own browser. A few small things are saved only in your browser, never sent to us: your light or dark theme choice, the contents of your cart, and the guides you've ticked on the Reading List. You can clear them any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the details, including the cookies other services may set.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link (for example to Amazon), you leave our site, and that shop may use its own cookies to credit the sale to us. It handles your information under its own privacy policy.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the services that do the work described above:
- Mautic, our self-hosted email system, to send the emails you signed up for
- Stripe, to take payments
- Supabase, to store download files
- Resend, to send receipts and download links
- Vercel, to host the site
Each of them handles your information under their own privacy policies and only for the job we use them for. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it:
- Sign-up details stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Messages you send us stay as long as we need them to help you.
- Order records stay as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted; the data deletion page explains how. Residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom and some US states have additional rights under their local laws, such as the right to object to processing and to complain to a data protection authority. We honor these requests from anyone, wherever you live.
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time with the link at the bottom of each one. Emails about an order you placed, like receipts and download links, will still reach you.
Keeping information safe
We use secure connections across the whole site and limit who can reach the data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us. To report a security problem, see our security page.
Children
Bookstagram Apothecary is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll make it clear on the site.
